I recently bought a digital camera and have already taken nearly 600 photographs. Storing the ones I want to keep is using up space on my hard drive at a steady rate. An alternative or additional storage medium is going to be essential. What would you recommend? A second hard drive, Zip drive, CD writer or something else?
A CD writer would be the best solution in our opinion as discs are inexpensive and robust. If you can spare enough space on your hard drive to store the image files until you have enough to fill a CD, so much the better. Zip cartridges are too expensive for the capacity, and rewritable CDs can be unreliable.
